The Virgin Islands Port Authority P3:
A Comprehensive Airport Redevelopment Initiative for the United States Virgin IslandsThe P3 Project
This project, which will involve the redevelopment of the HERA and CEKA airports, is a P3 project that will bring state-of-the-art amenities, private investment, efficient airport operations and long-term maintenance plans to these two important assets. These new facilities will stimulate economic growth in the Territory while providing travelers with a safe, comfortable, and pleasant experience.
Owing to the changes and expectations of air travel, VIPA is excited to announce our two new airport modernization projects, which will improve, expand and modernize our airports to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s travelers. These airport modernization projects will focus on increasing safety and comfort while expanding modern airport amenities and services.
Our P3 Project will upgrade and expand our existing airport facilities to make air travel more streamlined, efficient, and comfortable for our passengers. These exciting improvements will include upgrading the baggage systems, adding jet bridges, renovating and expanding our existing terminal buildings, and adding additional seating, concession areas, and other amenities to enhance the travel experience.
The United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is a marquee Caribbean destination showcasing sun-soaked beaches, breathtaking vistas, and a vibrant diverse culture. With this P3 Project, the Territory’s two airports will better accommodate the ever-increasing number of passengers and flights.
This P3 Project is designed to enable the USVI to remain competitive in the global travel market, create a better experience for local and guest travelers and strengthen the Territory’s vital tourism industry.
